Beware this wildly unethical company

I can't think of a single good thing to say about these thieves. They claim that 8 out of 10 brides are on their website, but this is simply because they will create a website for you if you don't create one yourself, and then they will refuse to take it down unless you demand that they do so in writing. My fiancee subscribed to some service they offered, and they kept charging her credit card even after she canceled the subscription. Their customer service representatives are smug and unhelpful. Just steer clear.

In summary, I would not recommend The Knot to a friend.

The knot.com is ok, we created a nice wedding website for our wedding guests. The layouts were pretty generic but easy to use.

My one major complaint is their response to technical glitches. I was working on our website and an entire page disappeared. Normally not a big deal but my fiance had spent a lot of time creating links to other pages for our guests to view. All of the information and links he had labored over had completely disappeared. The knot.com kept claiming that they were working on it but did nothing to recover the lost information so he had to do the whole thing over again. I was working on our seating chart and the tables kept defaulting to having chairs at the end of the table, which i didn't want. So every time I closed the chart and reopened it I had to reconfigure the tables otherwise the chart was unreadable. I contacted IT again and they told me they received the email but so far have done nothing to keep this from happening. Kind of annoying....

In summary, I would not recommend The Knot to a friend.

Personal Attacks are not Dealt with, but Supported

After using TheKnot.com for many years with no issue, I was personally attacked by a few of the bloggers over an innocent post made about my vow renewal. I was called names, judged, told to do outrages things like "get a divorce" and all out harrassed. One of the offenders was the moderator, who threatened to ban me from the blog. Not only did she threaten me, but she supported the other women's behavior.

I had no better luck on the TheNest. Normally TheKnot.com is very prompt in answering customer service email except this time. No one has contacted me about either one of my emails; 1. address the personal attacks and 2. cancel my accounts.

In addition to the harrassment, some of the countrols do not work well. It took me multiple tries to copy and paste my ticker, upload photos and update MyBio. Last, the service is very slow.

I still expect good service even when it is free. It is sad the a once decent website is now littered with poor patrons. I do not intend to recommend the use of this site to a soul. I'm so embarrassed I ever used it.

In summary, I would not recommend The Knot to a friend.

Vendors do not use The Knot

I have been advertising with The Knot for years. Over the past four months I have experienced all kinds of problems. In late December they dropped my ad all together and failed to list me on The Best of The Knot 2012 list after I won the award. It took four weeks for them to get this all fixed. Now once again my featured ad has been removed and I have been placed with all the other ads yet they still charged me for it. Once again they are saying its a computer error. Its a waste of my time to try and deal with these people so I cancelled the credit card they charged to and am waiting to hear about a refund.

In summary, I would not recommend The Knot to a friend.

My fiancee is Japanese and we are having serious technical difficulties getting the hiragana and chinese characters to remain on the site.

If you are looking for genuine advice, do NOT go to the knot. I would think admins would be a bit more involved in monitoring but on a daily basis people get flamed if its against popular opinion and when i mean flamed i mean, "is this a fake post" to name calling such as "bridezilla." It's demeaning and im starting to understand why so many brides are using wedding wire instead.

BIGGEST FIASCO EVER!

This is one of the most illegitamit companies I have ever dealt with! Not only did they send my purchase to the wrong address, I got a box of pink paper fans when I bought candles. Even on the receipt inside the box, it said purchased item "candles". Why the fans? It also stated the "ship To" address, why was it sent here?

They resent the purchase but did not complete the address on the ups slip and it was returned to vendor.

I was never notified, It was very difficult trying to find a way to contact them.
I would not reccommend the website for anyone on a time limit, and if you are getting married, you are most definatly pressed for time.

In summary, I would not recommend The Knot to a friend.

To begin the NIGHTAMRE with your company I will start from the beginning.
#1- Placed an order on Dec 7th via Internet order. Paid in full per my credit card. For some reason not charged till DEC 29th 3 weeks later!
#2 Order NOT received until Jan 6th ALMOST A MONTH LATER! I was very patient! WHAT TOOK SO LONG?
#3- Order incorrect and I received another BRIDES save the date magnets Todd & Michelle CRUISE!!
#4 I'm missing 20 save the date magnets contact the knot customer support on Friday 1-6-12 and report the problem. Item seemed to be resolved as the knot will send the missing (not Todd & Michellles wedding maganets which were so WRONG) throw away the maganets, we will send correct will be ONLY 1 WEEK! FABULOUS thank you!
#5 Received my request for the 20 Missing Magnets...Jan 12 ......HONESTY IS THE BEST!!!!!

NOW THE NIGHTMARE WITH YOU BEGINS!
#6 ON JAN 13TH I RECIEVED A DUPLICATE ORDER OF MY ORIGIONAL PURCHASE, NOT EXACTLY DUPLICATE....THE AMOUNTS WERE CHANGED the save the date maganets were nothing like I ordered!
#7 I contact customer support Jan 13th 2012 , they DENY any charges or shipments! HELP, I am being honest, I received another... (Read the full review)

The Knot Deleted my wedding website

I have been devastated by the Knot. I purchased a wedding website from them, filled in pages and pages of content and even wrote a letter about my fiance that was a pouring out of my heart only to find one day the site simply vanished into thin air. And I am two days from sending out my invitations. It is horrible. There is absolutely ZERO phone support and I have to at once start over and create a whole new wedding website. It is a wedding nightmare. DO NOT USE THE KNOT. It is just really really sad. Kristin

If you are a vendor looking to advertise on THE KNOT please rethink your decision. We have been doing so for 5 years now, and the services are getting worse. They used to have adds on TV in Magazines and on radio, not anymore. Their prices have gone up even in a bad economy like we have now. I would try another vendor.
