While there are a lot of alternatives out there, WeddingOrg is one of the few services that doesn’t offer a template-based website building service, so if you’re not interested in building your site yourself, this could be a good choice for you. So how does it work?

You start by booking an appointment to speak with a site builder with WeddingOrg, who talks you through the process and gives you some ideas as to the type of content you might want your site to feature.  Then, WeddingOrg secures you a .com domain name (if you need one) and begins designing your site to your specifications.

Once the initial design phase is over, users get the opportunity to review their site and request design changes, before the site is published online and shared with friends and family. One of the key drawbacks of this service is that users cannot make use of the ‘planning tools’ (such as guestlists, table plans, online RSVPs and more) that are on offer with other services. While you will be able to find these features elsewhere on other free services, they won’t be integrated into your site and you’ll be managing more than one service from day one. 

One of the pitfalls of using a service like WeddingOrg.com is the price. While you can start off with a free save the date page, creating a full website will set you back between $180 and $220, depending on the number of pages you have on your site (a site with 12 pages is charged at $220, with additional pages being charged separately).

While the price does represent good value compared to the offering at some services, and you don’t need to roll up your sleeves to actually build your site, some users will find the price a little too much (especially if you’re putting your wedding together on a budget). That said, users are able to spread payments over four months if they wish and can benefit from a 14-day money-back guarantee if they aren’t completely happy with their wedding site.
