The Knot Reviews

The Knot is a wedding mega-site with access to information on almost every aspect of your wedding, completely free of charge. Unlike many of the other services we have reviewed, although there are wedding website building tools on The Knot, this is very much not the focus of this site – instead, users are treated to advice, information and inspiration covering almost every aspect of their wedding planning and as such, we’re sure The Knot will become an integral part of the planning of weddings for years to come.  

The Knot is split into a number of sections, including “ideas and etiquette”, “real weddings”, “local vendors”, “wedding websites” and “Shop”, all of which are pretty self explanatory in terms of content. In each one, users can use the site’s great search tool to find information on a particular element of their wedding (the dress, or the cake, for example), all laid out in a fun and easy to read blog style. No matter how far down the line you are with planning your wedding, we’re sure you’ll be able to while away the hours on The Knot, reading articles such as “8 Wedding Shoe ideas you will love” or “Will my spray tan come off on my dress?”

One of the most interesting aspects of The Knot is the “real weddings” section, which gives users access to the wedding albums of other The Knot users for inspiration and, well, sheer nosiness. Each album comes complete with interviews with the bride and groom regarding the planning of their wedding and the origins of their ideas and all make for great reading.  Each article is “tagged” with a number of themes or buzzwords, such as “Country Club” or “Plum” so that you can quickly search for other similar weddings.

We also loved the fact that at the bottom of each article, all of the vendors or suppliers used in the wedding are listed, together with links to their websites or addresses – if you’re looking for a dress “just like hers”, or a cake “exactly like that one” this is a great way to find it. Many of the articles also link to The Knot Shop, so you can buy items straight away or save them to purchase later. 

There’s so much on offer at The Knot, there simply isn’t enough time to discuss every element of the site in our review. The bottom line – check it out: it’s free, it’s comprehensive, it’s thoroughly brilliant. We’re sure you’ll love this site!
