MomentVille.com has improved a lot recently, and thanks to all its new great features it makes it safely into our Top 10. The makers have really included everything that you could ask for, and although there are weaknesses, we hope the website will continue going from strength to strength in the future. If it does, MomentVille is setting itself up for being one of the very top wedding websites around.
The first thing we look at when judging a wedding website is the website builder and design options. At MomentVille, you get most of this for free. Only if you want extra features, such as password protection, do you need to pay a penny. (Just check out the features list above to see which features are free, and which you need to purchase). So for an essentially free site, the template designs are great and there is a good selection. You can even find ones that match your wedding invitations. However, it still is not the best selection out there in terms of style, variety and personalization.
MomentVille has all the extra sections that other good wedding websites are currently developing, such as a directory, a forum and informative articles. The wedding directory is one of the best of its kind we have seen on the web. Best of all, it is international (though non-English-speaking countries certainly have less representation than countries such as the US, Canada, Australia and the UK). There is also a wedding advice section, which is done well, though it could be better organized and will hopefully get more information uploaded in the future. Finally, there is a forum, but it is not very well organized and, more importantly, does not see much activity, so you could be waiting a long time before your posts get a response.
The planning tools at MomentVille are great. There is a very well-designed checklist so you can keep on top of what tasks you still have to do and a clever budget planner, where you can keep track of your payments and vary your budget depending on the number of RSVPs you have received. They have really covered pretty much everything here, and presented it all in style and with a thought to making your life easier.
The website can also make a rare claim amongst wedding websites: it is completely carbon neutral. In line with its improving services, this really future-proofs the website in a market that is becoming increasingly concerned with being 'green'. And if this is what you are after, this is likely to be a big draw.
MomentVille probably looks pretty good right now, so what are the problems? For a start, the site is a bit over-run by advertising. This won't get on to your personal website, but unless you pay for the premium package, you will experience it as a user. As we have mentioned, the forum is also a weak point, and the information section is smaller than those found on many competitor sites.
Overall, MomentVille.com offers a very competitive service at an even more competitive cost. It is still not the best wedding website on the internet at the moment, but it could be the ideal choice for many couples. Check it out now to see if it is right for you!
