GettingMarried.co.uk is a UK-centric wedding website building service that helps users create beautiful and functional wedding websites to inform and entertain their guests. Users can choose between a free service or one of the two premium packages (neither of which will break the bank – the most expensive option is just £59) and build a fantastic, customised wedding site that gives your guests all of the information they will need about your big day – how to get there, what to wear, where to stay and much more.
Wedding websites are becoming increasingly common at weddings these days, allowing brides and grooms to pre-empt the usual questions and concentrate on making their day extra special. Building your own wedding website is simple and straightforward. You begin with one of the sites’ template themes, which can be customised and amended to fit your color palette or wedding theme. You can then add as many custom sections to your website as you wish, including pages about you, how you met, the wedding party, your venue, gift list suggestions, accommodation suggestions, directions and more.
One of the best tools available as an add-on for your site is online RSVP – making it easier than ever before for your guests to reply to your invitation and give you details of their dietary requirements or special needs. One of the things that we felt was missing from GettingMarried.co.uk which is on offer at other sites, is a set of planning tools to help brides and grooms organize their wedding behind the scenes.
Whilst a couple of features of your GettingMarried site will help you to streamline certain bits of your wedding (e.g. the RSVP function, maps with hotel suggestions etc.) other services are rendered truly useful by offering couples a number of planning tools that offer practical solutions to many of the most stressful problems that come with organising a wedding, such as table plans, keeping track of vendors and suppliers and managing your guest list. It’s a bit of a shame that GettingMarried doesn’t offer features like these and this is the main reason that this site has been rated lower than other services we have reviewed in this category.
If you’re looking to put together a functional and informative site for your wedding that represents who you are as a couple, GettingMarried does just that and is well worth checking out. If you want a bit more out of your wedding website service, such as planning tools, check out one of the other services we have reviewed in this category, particularly those in our top ten.
